Porsche Voyerism

My apartment overlooks the backyard of a millionaire neighbor's house. The guy's got like this mini-mansion. He has a red Ferrari (not sure which model) and a late 80s silver Carrera.

They rarely drive the Carrera, but its sitting out right now, running. t looks absolutely stunningly perfect. I can hear the motor running now and boy does it sound smooth.

Do all of the late 80s Carerras, from 86-89 have that "Cyclops" third light in back?

My 86 does, my other neighbors 88 does....but this neighbors car does not. It has a third light which is mounted at the top of the window on the inside. It is a coupe though and not a cab.

cabs were outside, coupes inside and changed from the bottom of the inside window to the top, then back to the bottom over the 4 years (or I might have that backwards...but I believe '87 was at the top of the window).

Thanks nostatic. This car looks like an 88 or 89, just perfect condition. They should drive it more. Most of the time it sits in the back with a car cover on it. A shame.

I thought 87 the cyclops was mounted outside, not inside like the 86 coupe.

For coupes, in '86 it was inside the glass at the top, in '87 it was moved to the bottom, and then for '88 and '89 it went back to the top. I think these changes didn't align perfectly with the model years, so there may be some exceptions.

Yeah my 86 coupe is inside at the top, so it could be an 86.

LOL mike... he has the Ferrari in the garage. I suppose he considers the Porsche to be lesser citizen. Lots of trucks and other vehicles back there too...
