PNW Cars are FASTER

Hah! Hah I say to you hot weather sloths.

I know that the entire nation has been paralyzed with interest in our Pacific Northwest heat wave. Something like three consecutive months with 70+ temperatures and little or no rain. Well, that's over now and we're back to cloud cover and fog and cool, humid air. And there's a noticeable horsepower difference.

You can say that again! Man, what a surprize when I got aggressive with the throttle this morning. She was running pretty darn strong.

Ya sure, ya betcha -- high density air mass converging over PNW and it looks like it's raining horsepower!!

Great beer, real mountains, and flaming liberals to boot. Can't get much better than that.

John

EDIT: It does make the engines last longer, doesn't it? I am awaiting this weekend to break in a Triumph 500cc twin that was just rebuilt. Perfect moisture and cool combine to help my little baby get her rings set. Heaven!!

Well of course we're dashingly handsome, gentle and with refreshing senses of humor, not to mention our legendary Johnsons, but that's OT.

LOL..good one Tom.

We have the benefit of cool Canadian air following the Jetstream converging on midwest...so you guys in the PNW don't have a monopoly...

Oh wait...I have to discount the cool Canadian air by a 0.5 factor on the gross HP gain calculation

I think we've only had on 90+ degree day here this summer...aren't we due for an Ice age? Get ready for some ice racing boys!

Welcome, Mark!!!!!! Now, wouldn't you agree that your red zinger has a bit more power here than it did in Texas? How about your car?

Oh, and the rain does not scare all the 911s off the road in Winter. Not mine anyway.

I wouldn't know, as soon as it starts raining, my car goes up on jackstands. Hopefully it is sunny tomorrow.

My 'ol gal will sleep in the garage, but be called to duty every morning to haul my butt to work. Rain, or rain.

Mine goes 365 days a year.,.,...,...unless its raining, then she sits in a dry garage. So, lets say 359 days a year she`s able to be on the road.

I have to say that I am enjoying the cooling weather but that is because I love fall around here.

As far as the P-car and rain; I have windshield wipers that work, wax on the paint and no sunroof leaks; no worries here? The car is not made of sugar cubes.

Gary,

My car is not galvanized, like yours and other later cars. Regardless, I replaced the front and rear window rubber (notorious for leaking and causing rust-my car had none, thank goodness) and don't have to worry about salted roads. I will drive her and spray off the underside once a week. It should be fine. If I need to repair some rust that developes, then I will.

That's the spirit! Hey Troy...if you ever need to touch bases with someone who understands cars, and most other stuff, I know a terrific guy in Eugene.

Your not putting her up on stands before our Sept. 27th Welcome Texan mini-Round-Up are you?
