Question 1985 911 Targa - didn't start, now does

Wierdness - pull into the garage and turn off the car, and immediately think - what is the idle oil level anyway - and turn the ignition back on - nothing. No gages move, no turn over, nothing. So, I go inside, get out my work clothes, and go back to the garage in storm trooper boots armed with a voltmeter.

And of course the car starts right up. I can't fix what isn't broke, but I am curious as to whether anyone else experienced this and figured out what was wrong. Probably 15 minutes between start attempts.

Thanks for any insight.

Brian

Check the plug under the dash for the ignition switch. There should be one for the headlights switch, one for the wiper switch, and one for the ignition switch. Make sure they are all seated well. Then check your battery connections.
