So this is what a 911 looks like off jackstands (project update)

1st off, a shout-out to Tim (FT owner). He's been showing up each weekend like a psycho ex-girlfriend to work on the car. Lots of progress attributable to him!

This weekend the entire front suspension was installed, along with an essentially new brake system, restored gas tank, etc. Also got the wiring harness more or less back into position and got the fuse boxes bolted down.

The engine is next - all the parts are gathered. Wayyy over budget on my stock rebuild. Crane 288 cams, decked & ported heads, relieved 2.2T pistons, MFI. Updates to come....

ya ya I know I'm crazy but I'm at an impass right now on my own project. My case needs either expensive bearings or a new case :-/

I just choked on my coffee! It's starting to look like a 911 again.

It's starting to come together and looks really nice. You've made a lot of progress with the stuff that behind the scenes...that eats up a lot of time. Keep posting reports.

There is actually a disadvantage

When everything is all buttoned up, it is hard to see details like this...

Looks good Dave. Way to stay focused. Hurry up and you might make the Pilot Mountain / Danbury run that Hal, Tom and I have in the works for cooler weather.

That really is the worst part, staring at all your hard work but it's covered up with fenders you haven't touched.

Hey Paul, when are you guys planning to make the run? I'm hoping to have the engine assembled and in the car by the end of October. The car will be mechanically tight as a drum at that time but umm....not exactly weather-sealed.

Great roads up there... let me know and I'll try to get all the bugs out by then. I guess I could slap on a hood seal, some door and headlight seals, and be in pretty good shape. They can always come out again for the paint work.

very nice. Its always good to see a project make it back onto 4 wheels. I am sure your neighbor will be happy too.
