Magnecor Wires w/ MSD on 930 Turbo
Boys,
Since my factory wires are failing a little bit at a time I am considering the use of Magnecor wires in unison with the MSD 6al and MSD Blaster Coil. Has anyone had experience in this scenario(3.3 Turbo) and how did the Magnecors compare with the factory wires? Any input would be appreciated. Thank you. |
I have exactly that setup on a twin-plug 3.4-liter SC engine. (Twin MSDs and Blasters, of course.) Can't say how it compares to "the factory wires," since I never ran 'em before building up the engine, but this motor dynos at over 275 hp at the flywheel and works just fine. I'm told that the weak link of the factory wires is the connector assembly.

thanks for the input Steve.

Rich, I am running the set up that you are inquiring about. I'm a happy camper!! The magnecor wires are fat, & it's a bit of a pain getting them to stay in place on the dist. at first. Craig

Roger that. It's really important that the wires and their boots make good contact with...well, the contacts, but it's a ***** getting the boots to stay in place on the distributor. Some I've even wrapped with miniature Ty-Raps to forsce them to say in place.

Love mine (bought'em from Steve). They grip the dizzy just fine, but the coil connector simply would not go into the Blaster coil. Had to trim the boot.
