Anyone have Weber DGAS experience?
I told my Uncle I would ask you guys given the wealth of knowledge here.
He has a BMW 2002 which he races and has switched from a 32/36 Weber to a single 38DGAS and is having some problems. I am not sure if these are used on some early Pcars but hey who knows. When he comes out of a corner and gets back on the gas he is way down on power for a couple of seconds then it returns to normal. With a A/F meter hooked up you can see that it goes VERY lean during this lag period. He has the fuel pump pulling rather than pushing but I dont know if that would cause this as the float bowl should have plenty of time to fill while deceling into the corner and it was fine with this setup on his previous carb. He is running 145 main jets and a local guru has said that these are WAY too big for a 2.0L engine even is warmed over. Again doesn't seem like that would cause his problem but hey. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

i have a 2002 with the weber 38. Tend to agree that the main jets are too big, but isn't that pump backwards the most likely culprit?

My 1st thought is float bowl.
Hit a corner. Gas in bowl goes to side. Sucks air instead of gas. But...sounds like you've considered that. |

Thanks guys,
I agree that it has to be the float bowl or the pump. ChiJeff, what jets are you running?
