Sparking below engine

After hearing what sounded like electrical sparking coming from the rear right, I left the engine running on my 993 cab and proceeded to check things out. Looking between the rear right wheel and the arch of the body, is some strong sparking just below the engine , just above the exhausts.

The source seems to be coming from what looks like the head of a screw (mount?). Any ideas of what this could be? This happens the same day as my convertible top is blowing the fuse when activated.

Thanks

maybe the ground strap is loose, and the current is finding any other way it can to get thru.

is your 993 a 1995 or early 1996 model?? there is a recall on the engine wiring harness. the plastic material of the wires will get brittle and crack..causing arcing, shorts, headaches etc.

yes, I have the late 1995 and , come to think of it, Porsche just completed the recall work on the engine wiring harness last week.

I will also check out the ground strap. Thanks, guys.
