Reputable 911 Mechanic in the Orange County, CA area
In the spirit of a previous thread regarding a reputable 911 mechanic in the South Bay/ LA area, I have the same question but for the Orange County area.
I have just acquired an 83 SC with 92k miles and need to do the chain tensioner upgrade and sping centered clutch upgrade (two places I called both estimated $800 for the tensioners and about $1,200 for the clutch... is this about right?) Any recommendations for an Orange County mechanic? I work in Long Beach so any suggestions there would be great too. Thanks!!! Quincy Fountain Valley, CA |

If you do a search you'll find some mentioned (try keywords PPI and Orange County). The usual suspects in OC would be Andial and Hergesheimer, but I know there are others. I use TRE but that is up in North Hollywood.

Try Aase Motors in Fullerton. These guys are definately the shop for those "in the know". Jeff and Allan are two of the best air-cooled 911 mechanics in Southern California. They only do air-cooled Porsche's, 911's, 914's, and 356's. Their shop is not the brightest, shiniest ( read HIGH RENT! ) shop you will ever see, but they are very honest, and very down to earth, and very affordable as far as Porsche shops go. They also don't spend half the day talking about how great they are and how ALL the other Porsche mechanics are crap. This seems to be an epidemic among many shops. My 911's have been to a few different shops in the past, but now I leave Aase Motors feeling good about what I just spent. See if that happens anywhere else.
Aase Motors 2017 West Commonwealth Ave. Units G & H Fullerton 714 992-2283 They will be gone this weekend to Laguna Seca supporting quite a few Porsche race cars. Try them on Monday, or Tuesday. There may be shops closer to FV than Aase, but I drive from HB to get there. |

Richard, I'm not in OC now...I'm up in west LA. "New media research" is...umm....stuff. Take audio, video, web, dvd, art, technology, liberal amounts of BS, and put it in a blender.

Nobody down there has heard of TYSON? Perhaps I don't understand the geography?

Oh, I take that back. Last time I was there, they had a 959. Is that considered a 911? And they do up to 993s.
