Just celebrated 250K miles

Drove out to Peoria and back (from NJ). Here are some details:
* 2,000+ miles
* Avg. 18mpg.
* Top speed 122
* 1/2 qt. of oil consumed
* Odo now shows 250K +
* Burned out the A/C condensor motor (I think)

What a blast! On the way out we stopped overnight in Toledo and saw a Mudhens game. On the way back I drove it straight through. It's amazing, get away from the tri-state area and my little 911 is still turning heads.

Hey 1fastredsc,

I left Thursday and on Friday I called home only to find that the police were driving by the house and found my fiance's car (Audi A4 Quatro Wagon) alarm system going off. One kid, who was trying to jimmy the door open with a screwdriver, ran over to a waiting car with 2 guys in it. The police gave chase, one police car got in an accident and the other police car gave up the chase.

Ironic timing. We've lived here for just over a year and this is the first problem we've had.

Great news GSpreeman. Have you ever had any major engine work performed?

145,000 on my 87 Carrera and it seems to be running REAL strong. It is going to have to go for another 100,000 before needing any major engine work or I will be pissed.

Rich, you have an allroad!!! I have an A4 quattro (sport) that I like a lot. How awsome is your allroad? My wife and I have been obsessing over them lately. The Audi dealer near me has 2 RS6's in stock. They want $96,000 a piece!!!

ATTENTION USA: Audi produces the finest sedans and wagons on the planet.

Mine had a top end about 20K ago. Runs great!

Hey Audi guys, is there a DIY cutoff I can put in my A4 like the DME kill switch in my 911? The Audi was almost stolen while I was away (cops interrupted the thieves).

Congrats! For some reason, the 250K didn't catch my eye (although a wonderful achievement!) It was the fact the you went to Peoria that stood out.
Born and raised in good ole P-town, but have since moved to sunny, scenic Detroit!

Any problems with the highway's finest???

Congrats again!!

No tix!!!!!!!! Actually, there weren't that many cops out there on either I80 or I70. When there was traffic I kept it to about 74 in a 65mph zone. At night I would crank it to 110-120 or so.

I'm at 129,000.
I just spoke to a guy sold his '89 and bought a '91 C4. He's put $8K in it this year and has had enough. He wants a Carrera back with its bullet proof 3.2

I hope I get 250,000 out of mine. Although since buy Wayne's rebuild book I'm a little anxious.
