Newbie finally about to join the club!

Well, I finally found the car! It's an '87 911 with 75K miles on it. I had a PPI done on it today and it checked out with only a couple of minor problems. I'll be picking it up next Monday. Here it is!

DUDE....SWEET....DUDE......SWEET. Congrats, I think it's waaay better looking than that white one was. What were the minor problems?

Bill Douglas 08-25-2003 08:11 PM

Fine looking car, fine looking car...

Beautiful Car !!! Best of luck with it and welcome to the board.

stone43 08-25-2003 08:22 PM

Much better than the white one. That thing was too white, especially with the painted targa bar.

Classic Guards Red. Nice Car.

I always thought that Carrera Targas look better with a tail.

krichard 08-25-2003 09:19 PM

Wow that looks sweet. I think I actually looked at that one. Good choice going with Guards Red.

As you can see I am kinda partial.

What are the minor issues? Did you get a good deal?

jyl 08-25-2003 09:44 PM

I'm not normally a targa fan, and yet I think that car is really attractive. The tail makes it.

mwbaum 08-25-2003 09:49 PM

welcome! be careful re the Cop-magnet Red.....

Paco Anton 08-26-2003 12:04 AM

I love Targas

That is a very nice car, and I am 100% impartial ... :D

The only three things that showed up in the inspection were: the alternator belt was cracked and needs replacing, the windshield washer pump doesn't work, and the ac needs recharging. I'm going to have the place that did the PPI make these repairs before I pick it up. I'm paying $18K for the car.

:D :D :D :D :D

I noticed when I ran the CARFAX report on this car that the current owner has not put very many miles on the car (only 5K in tha past 4 years.) Is there anything else that I should have done before I drive it home (about 220 miles)?

:D :D :D :D :D

For some reason this grin won't go away!

JeremyD 08-26-2003 04:11 AM

I'd get the oil changed and a quick go over - take the Targa top off, the radar detector on and drive it like you stole it!

Congrats - and welcome to the secret society of the over dooers!

rcm 08-26-2003 04:44 AM

Nice ride!

trj911 08-26-2003 04:57 AM

Good color!

ruf-porsche 08-26-2003 05:33 AM

Nice Targa. Too bad summer is almost over. But you'll be ready next Spring. Was it an IL car or did you buy it out of state.

Groesbeck Hurricane 08-26-2003 06:00 AM

NICE CAR!!! I need to get fresh photos of mine and post...

Get the oil changed, take some tunes with you, take the top off, and enjoy the ride home!!! Oh, the grin somehow becomes permanent! Some sort of Porsche plastic surgery or something...

targa911man 08-26-2003 10:26 AM

Looks a lot like mine. Gorgeous.

RickM 08-26-2003 10:31 AM

Ruf: "Summer is almost over"....????

Isn't Fall one of the best times to have the top off and the windows up?

Very, Very nice car.
