Engine Stand Spec Needed!
HI all
Does anyone have any spec/dimensions for building an engine stand for my 911's motor? |
Do you need the diameter of the yoke i.e. the part that bolts to the engine and gets inserted into the engine stand?
You can't make the yoke itself as cheaply as you can buy it - maybe even with a machine shop at your disposal. -Chris |
The receiver/yoke is usually round 2” ISD stock. I like a little taller neck so 34” or so. Cross peace about 24-30”, w/30-36”legs. Use 2” stock w/at least 2”casters. Trick it out w/a splash tray across the legs & a tool tray behind the receiver. In the US you can buy a basic 1000lb capacity stand for under $50. Can’t hardly make one for that.

Since we're here, anyone built a stand to run the motor on as well?
|
Look at Wayne's Engine Rebuild Book, the 2.7 is mounted in a stand which can run the engine.
