97 3.6 twin turbo motor, $8,700?

Only 4K miles.Sounds a little to good to be true.

The Porsche 1997 993 3.6 twin turbo engine is a complete motor with everything you need. All you have to do is to put it in your car and enjoy.
Do you think it's really that easy????

I sure wish it was! My mechanic is still working on my 930. He got the oil tank relocated in the fender, but we still need to work out the oil lines (we're trying to use as much 993 stuff as possible). Then the fuel stuff goes in, then the distances for the spark plug wires need to be measured so we can order them. After this the exhaust system needs to somehow be fit in there. I don't even know if the engine hangers are done yet.

Uhhhhhhhhhh, there is NO reserve!!! I bet if it doesnt go high enough, he'll cancel the auction before it ends. It should however go to at least $15,000.

Holy crap, a varo for $10.00!!!

I saw it before anyone placed a bid and I was sure tempted but on a limited budget it's hard to put the extra 3-5K plus the 3-8K for the engine

Plus get it shipped across the pond to the US of A. Well is this the next "logical" step for those that drop NA 3.6 engines into earlier cars? Will all turbo and other DIYers now begin to feel the need for a twin turbo 3.6 fix? If someone could do it right then it would be tons of fun not to mention an ultimate in sleeper cars.

there is always the possibility that the engine is off a choped car. This would explain the low price and the fact its a trans atlantic sale. Id want to fly over to pick it up, and you can get airfair for 300 to london and back.

Just so you guys know, I used "but it now" to win the auction for the 3.6 engine for $2300. I told the seller I wanted to have a contact within the UK pick it up for me and pay cash, but he wants me to wire funds immediately to his bank in the Ukraine.

I am not saying this is a fraud, but so far things aren't looking good.

John, you're right it doesn't look so good but hopefully it works out, for your sake and ours. Sure I know that's a conceited thing to say but I would love to know what you were planning to do with the engine.....
And the ducktail is pure genius.

His bank in the UKRAINE??????????????????????????????????

If the engine is in the UK and so is the seller then why transfer the money outside the UK.....

I think the phrase "Danger, Will Robinson, Danger" applies....

Guys, I'm not kidding. This appears to be an eBay account that has been hijacked.

I cannot tell for sure yet, but I did a contact information request on the seller's eBay id and it came back with a Robert M P from Mexborough, South Yorkshire, UK. But the guy emailing me and asking for payments to his Ukraine account is called "Stanislav". The emails are coming from the correct address that is registered to the seller's account. I am going to call this guy Robert M P tomorrow (eBay sends his phone number) and see what's up.

That, and the engine has been relisted with a "Buy it now" again for $2300. I think the hijacker figured he's got maybe one or two days before eBay reacts and shuts this down so he needs to pump out a bunch of auctions quickly.
