Car totaled, what next

I need a weekend play toy with a drop top.

Hard to find good 911 widebody convertibles and/or 930 convertibles right now. The 964s and early 993s are cheaper than the 88s and 89s in great condition.

Want a 930 cabriolet. If I cannot find one in my price range, would I be happy with the 964 or a 95 cabriolet. Which is quicker and handles better.

I really like the yellow. Have you done any mods on the engine? They only detractor to me is the chrome head light rings. If they were yellow or black I think it would flow better. Just my opinion though. What are you asking?

I actually bought some new headlight rings. I was going to paint them yellow. The engine is dead stock.
I'am looking for around $17k for it. I need the money to finish my Pantera and I plan on buying a 930 early next year.

Sam, on a brighter note, what will be the replacement for your beautiful wide-body? Going classic 'hot' long nose, 964 or another 3.2?

Doug,

I e-mailed you about an hour ago about my '87 911 Turbo Look Cab I might be selling. I live in Nashville, so we're not that far apart. I put my phone # in my e-mail, so call me if you'd like to talk. I'm getting ready to do some home renovations, and the wife tells me that I ought to sell one of my three toys ('02 Boxster S, '91 NSX with 23,800 miles, and the Turbo Look Cab) to help fund the project.

My car is 1 of the 16 real M491 Turbo Look Cabs built in '87, and it currently has 48,800 miles. I have the original window sticker for the car and it cost $63,070 back in 1987.

Options include the following: Dual power heated sport seats, limited slip, power top, turbo look option, central locking system, automatic speed control, alarm system, luggage compartment in black velour. It also has a leather 930S steering wheel (that I bought from Pelican Parts) and a set of Cup I wheels with painted centers and a brand new set of Yokohamas. I am VERY picky, and I'd rate the car strong 9 out of 10. It needs absolutely nothing and everything works perfectly.

Mike: That sounds great. What color is it. Any pics. Is it white and did I talk to you back in June?

I have found a nice 89 silver anniversary cab with 48k and a couple of 930 cabs in my price range. Nashville would be much closer than the others.

Sam: Hard to believe, but my shop estimated the damage at $ 25,000.00.

Doug,

My car is Grand Prix White with Mahogony leather interior.

No, you didn't talk with me back in June...you must have spoken with a guy here in Nashville named Tony about his '88 911 Turbo Look Cab (clone) he had for sale. It was a white car as well. His car was converted into a Turbo Look from a regular Cab, whereas mine is a real M491 Turbo Look Cabriolet. M491 on my original window sticker, on the sticker under the front hood, and in the original red Warranty & Maintainence book I have.

I'm probably going to advertise all three of my toys in a few weeks and whichever one sells, I'll sell, and will keep the other two.

Mike

BTW

That yellow cab is absolutely gorgeous. Real tesmtping, just want something newer even though it would be very difficult to find a nicer looking car.

Doug,

Don't have any pictures of my car, but I'll try and take a few this weekend and could e-mail them to you. I'm pretty computer illiterate, so I'll have my 15 year old son help me.

Doug,

Forgot to mention that my car also has an in dash Alpine CD player, as well as an amp to power system.
