Funny how enticing the older 911s are

I have my new rides (TT and Cayenne) to get my family to and fro everyday, but for my play toy, it has to be something I really want to drive (and a convertible the wife says). She has the check book . . .

Anyway, after wrecking my 88 I thought serious about "upgrading" to a 97 or so 993 cabriolet or maybe even a great deal on a 99 996 cabriolet. After obcessessing for two days and looking at nearly every dam 911 on the internet I could find and in my DuPont, GT and Excellence magazines, I am back to wanting the 88 or 89 911 turbo cabriolet even though it will end up costing me more than the later model cars. I would actually rather pay more for the 88 or 89 turbo cabriolet than I would for the 964 cab or the 97/98 993 cab. My main attraction is the rawness look with the whale tail and fender flairs and etc. I have been a die hard advocate for the new Porsche stuff (Love my TT and Cayene), but I can honestly say I think the an 89 tubro cab with polished or chromed fuchs and piped interior is my favorite convertible bar none. Now I just have to learn to drive it. Sorry to waste bandspace, but I came to I guess an epithany this evening that there really is nothing better than the looks on that wide body 88 or 89 Turbo Cab with polished Fuchs.

Yup, you can't beat the look of a 930 though my personal preference is for coups.

When you said "older", I was thinking early car. Have you considered an early (pre74) S???? That would make a nice addition to the stable ...... -- Curt

OK, as your wife has trhe checkbook, (!) and wants a cab, who can argue! So, I agree, your choice is sweet. I vote black!

(the only caveat I have on that generation is that the black bumper bellows jarr with the lines on lighter colored cars. On black they fade away...plus black makes those flares rock!)
