Porsche Crest Roadtrip story & result: Need PPI Near Channahon (Chicagoland)

Well, after driving 14 hours to get to Channahon, the seller didn't have the title "with him." The seller was shocked (shocked!) that my financing party was so fascist as to require an executed title -- and notarized signatures! -- to fund the deal. We had to go to his buddy's place to get the title and scare up a notary (which I'd warned him we needed) and I was in a real hurry to get back on the road for the return trip, so dicking around Chicago for an additional two hours was not going to happen.

Now, the seller seems honest (though clueless about Porsches) and we came to an agreement that I'd drive the car back w/o the title and we'd settle up on Tuesday. I had an executed bill of sale and a dealer's plate.

Two issues - first, after the shakedown drive, I let her idle for about 10 minutes. Every 30 seconds or so, there was a muffled click from the engine area. But the idle was steady and the car is in great shape.
BUT - after we got the 930 all loaded up (Valentine, two-way to communicte w/ chase vehicle, etc.) for the trip home, I went to start it and it wouldn't hold an idle. Not happy about facing 900+ miles in a car that wouldn't hold an idle, we came to (I insisted on) the following arrangement. On Tues/Wed, the seller will take the car to a Porsche guy of my choosing, on the seller's dime. He'll either pay to fix the car or take it out of the purchase price, and then he's responsible for shipping the car to me.

Long trip (2000 miles in 48 hours) for no car, but what I need now is a recommendation from you guys as to a solid Porsche/turbo guy near Channahon/Chicago who can look this car over for me.

For the record, I'm not a complete idiot...I'd grilled the car's mechanic (and the service manager at the mechanic's shop) about the car before going out there and all reports were very very positive. Their descriptions were 100% honest and spot-on, but obviously something escaped this mechanic, so I want to go to a different guy (and Porsche/turbo specialist) for this diagnosis.

Long post just to request a Chicagoland PPI source, but this is less than 10% of what happened and I needed to vent.

As always, guys, thanks in advance.

JP

Send me an e-mail. I have a Word doc from the tech chair of our PCA with recommended shops. Not close to Channahan, but nothing is in that area. I'm actually only about 1/2 hour away.
