Wayne... I posted on the "fuel in the oil" problem several times before. My MFI pump does not circulate oil with the engine, its sealed off as per many race shops preference. I am getting much fuel in the oil... so much it pushed oil out the breather. I did a CO test... at idle im good at 2.8% average, but at 3000rpm its running 14% - 16%. Thus, the MFI pump needs adjusting and I have not gotten to it yet. (Have not been driving the car at all in this condition either).
Im really stumped on the t-bars issue. Jack Lewis races a '69 S with great success... he is blinding fast.... and he runs very stiff rear bars. He also does not use ANY rear anti-roll bar on his car. I have been thinking of going with a 30mm rear t-bars and using the stock rear anti-roll bar. I have a set of 15x7 Fuchs with 225 hoosiers mounted. They guy I got them from was running them on the rear of his non-flared '71 with no rubbing. Im hoping they will work, if not I'll find a solution. Im open to R wheels if I could find some. Today we managed to totally strip to shiny metal the entire cockpit area and front trunk compartment. Over the next few days the wheel wells and whole underside get the same treatment. Nasty, nasty job! The paint on this car is just so-so. Nothing special for sure. However, I am going to paint and detail the underside and really make sure all suspension and hardware is perfect looking including the engine bay. I think it will be funny to have a car that looks better on the bottom than the top! I'll probably stick with the stock MC for now. Where can I get some good slotted rotors and what pads do you guys recommend for the S calipers? |
"I will be running 15" x 6 deep dish Fuchs. I hope to get away with 225/45 rear and 205/50 front Hoosiers. I will roll the fender lips and run negative camber."

15x7 Fuchs will work on a non-flared car, but I don't think you'll be able to run 225s on them without some serious negative camber. I have 205/60 (I'm switching to 205/55) on the back and my 2.7 is pretty low. While I have no problems under hard cornering, I still get the occasional rub on hard bumps at speed.
Sounds like a great car! |
