Interior Light

My interior light only comes on when I put it in the forward position or the back position. I want the light turn on when the door opens but it doesn't do that. I've tried the middle position but no luck. Should I replace the light? Would it be better to replace the whole unit that is faulty?

Sounds like the light is working just fine. I suspect the door switch is faulty or needs to be cleaned.

Mine works when the doors are opened, but not when switched manually; I've taken apart and cleaned - no change. Any thoughts?

Cool

the light has a chassis ground..
push the housing to the rear to remove tension on the front of the light to remove. Run a chassis ground wire to the light rear ground spring clip.. then test the light in all positions when removed..............Ron
