If I just wait 2-3 seconds, and/or blip the throttle a bit, it goes into reverse without any trouble. Looks like I'm OK...

Like the OP, I experienced this 915 feature today :(

I'm surprised no one brought this up in any of the longwinded 915 vs g50 discussions.

It's a true racing gear box, unlike the G50.

Clutch was adjusted recently.

Checked the manual and it indeed says to hold clutch down for several seconds before shifting to reverse. I am quite sure I didn't do that.

I'm just a tad surprised by this.

When I was young it was called "Clearing the gears". My Brother showed me when I was about 12 in a new Corvair. You just go to first , move a tiny bit forward and reverse goes smooth right in. I have done that with many cars all my life.
