Porsche Crest Thinking of stripes or flames am i nuts??

I have problem not to changing the look of my Porsche every new season, last year it was a new bumper and newpaint.

This year the engine will go first, but a new frontbumper will probably be fitted.

So now to the question, how can i change the look on the outside without painting in another colour?

Have you seen any 911 with some stripes or simmular that looks great?

Give me some critic boys, i can handle it!

In one way i like the clean look, it's just that i be bored to have it the same year after year...

Pic for the moment:

I dont know whether I do these things but some ideas anyway...

Try white-ing (real words?) out the whole car thus:

Shave the door handles and instal remote locking or colour code the door handles

Remove the roof top aerial

Remove and replace the balck plastic trim anywhere you see it

Paint the air intake near the windscreen white

Clear indicator lenses

An aggressive tail (in white of course)

Just some ideas....

Have fun.

I'd stay with stuff that had some Porsche relevance, like the Martini stripes or other references to pre-existing racecar schemes. Then there's the classic 550 Spyder look of red (usually) teardrops surrounding the headlight lenses.

I see a lot of cars that someone has tried to "improve" by using stripes, etc. In most cases, the effect has been to hide the car's natural beauty, rather than accentuate it. I'd say it is more difficult to "improve" the appearance of the 911 than most cars. I'd suggest either copying a favorite historic scheme, or be very very subtle with your custom design.

Thanks for the inputs

I really dont want to go too far from the "original" Porsche stuff and the paintjob on it last year cost around 7K$ so i must be really sure that it's looks good before i put it on, i dont want to do a repaint because of me picking the wrong stripes.

More ideas and pics are more then welcome.

/Jocke

Jocke - I love that car just the way it is! I would not do a thing!

Unless you are going to do something like PBH suggested - now that is art!

I think your car would look cool with a Brumos style paint scheme

It's personal taste, i can't stand flames unless it's on a vehicle that i'm purposely trying to make either funny or tacky. Stripes on the other hand can look good depending on which style and scheme is chosen. I think that the picture of that rsr that was on the forum a couple of months back was hella good looking. They were like half ovaled stripes all over, really sexy looking.

Black stone guards, Carrera script, and hood crest. Great looking P-Car, I wouldn't mess with it too much
