torgue on ball joint nut
Quick question. What is the proper torque on the ball joint nut on the a-arm? I've gotten different values from different sources.
Thanks, John |

Tight. Put a jack under the tool, so that the tool is pressed against the nut with the weight of the car. So that the tool will not slip off the nut. Then tighten it as much as you can. You won't get it too tight.
Without the jack, I'm not sure you can get enough torque on it. With the jack, the torque wrench is going to be inaccurate. That's why I say.... Tight.

Always go by the official PAG publ.s -- e.g. Tech Spec book. Aftermarket books are know n to contain errors (tho maybe the PAG books do too)...
A medium sized ex-con,[1] a helper, and a big 'ol 1" drive socket set will do the job. [1] N.B. Do not confuse this with a neo-con, which will ruin your nuts. they are different animals. |
