After many hours of throwing the idea around I unfortunately decided to sell my 87 911 Cab. I am trying to pay off some debt and save for a new house. I am getting married in March and want to save some money. My fiance is actually pissed that I decided to sell. I plan to buy either a real nice 930 next year or two less expensive 911 because she is a Porsche Nut also. I plan to put it on Ebay soon but wanted to give the Pelican Heads first shot at it.
Here is a description: 1987 Porsche 911 Cabriolet Red/Black 127000 Miles Books/Many Records Brand New Goodyear Eagle F1's Oil Changed Every 3000 miles with Castrol 20w50 Engine Rebuild at 89000. Does not drip at all. I have never had a drop of oil on the garage floor. Autowerks Chip-Removes Rev Limiter. Better Throttle Response K&N Top is in pretty good shape,,,No Leaks Leather is in great shape other than drivers seat. Recently a seem seperated and the power adjustment switch needs to be replaced. NOT 8-Way, just tilt adjustments. Carpet is in great shape and paint is shiny with minor road rash on hood. Clutch has plenty of life left and shifts great through every gear. Engine is very strong and starts easily Valve adjustment about 9k miles ago Full Tune Up as well(plugs, wires, cap) Dash is in great shape with zero cracks and no fading. This car was my daily driver and I never had any issues. I have owned this car since October of 2001 and it had about 98000 miles. All electrical works fine and I just replaced the pass side window motor. The rear seats locking pin needs to be replaced to keep them in the upright postion. Overall, this car is a real headturner and I get many compliments on her. Here are some pics,,,send me some offers. I just want a fair price so please only serious offers. |

Looks like a nice car Jimmy. Some times ya just gotta do what ya gotta do. Hopefully, you'll be back among us with a new, improved 930! In the meantime, be smart and keep your eyes open

I have been curiously watching this saga for the last few days. Time is getting short. Can I interest anybody in a 87 Cab for $11,100? Less than 11 hours left. Looks like somebody could get a good deal. I really want to know how this all plays out. I'm not a big ebay fan, but the right circumstances could change that.

$13.9....come on! Thats a steal. Thats insane!
Its also a disservice to the perceived market values of the rest of our cars. Not right, IMO....that car should have sold for $18K + Last edited by Sonic dB; 08-31-2003 at 12:51 PM.. |

I wish I would have known. I would have purchased this car, and turned around to sell it for a $5K profit.

Yep sounds like a done deal. The winning bidder has already wrote a positive review. jshmgt wrote: excellent 911\\smooth transaction. I guess there are good deals to be had on ebay. I hope Jimmy gives us an update, I wander what the PO got for trade in on the new Hummer?

He wrote a positive review a couple hours after the auction closed? Was he a local?

what do you think guys? Has the market bottomed? In the winter when I was looking hard. I couldn't find a good Carrera for less than $17,000
That was a coup. Not a Cab. Now I'm seeing them everywhere for less than SC's were going for then. way less! I guess fall is the best time to buy. I doubt I'll ever sell my car anyway, but if I had to right now, I would take a woopin! just like the rest of you... Where are all the young dot com.ers when ya need em?

If the economy only stagnates and doesn't get a whole lot worse then values are probably as lot as they are gonna get.
Our cars are very effected by the fact that they are usually unneccessary luxury items for most people who own them and those are the kind of items whose values are usually effected the most by fluxuations in the economy. |
