Looking for some info on a '98 993

A friend of mine is looking for some information on a '98 993 Targa (Tiptronic) with under 20k miles. Does anybody have any information on how many were made or know of some websites to look at for determining value etc?

I know '98 targas are pretty rare. Only about 200 or so made.

Here in Minneapolis (Motor Werks BMW) there's either a 97 or 98 Targa Tip for sale for $36,500. (It's been listed both ways) Don't know anything else about it other than it's been listed in the Minneapolis Sunday paper for a few weeks and I've been drooling over the add every time I see it.

here are the numbers that i posted to your question on the 964-993 board:
North American numbers:
1996 "T program" 462
1997 "V program" 567
1998 "W program" 122

prices now seem to be equal to the coupe prices.
