pix of 15X6(f) and 15X7(r) on early car

I am trying to convince my wife to put 15X6 wheels on the front and 15X7s on the rear of her '71 911T. (She definitely prefers the look of 15s over 16s). She is concerned that the 15X6s and 15X7s won't quite match (the diameter of the black in the 6s appears to be bigger than on the 7s, unlike 15X7X8s where the colored center appears to be the same diameter for the 7s and 8s). Can anyone post pictures of early cars with 15X6s up front and 15X7s in the rear?

Thanks

I agree with the wife. I don't know all the wheels, but it sounds like you're thinking of using some wheels from an SC on the back with some early wheels on the front. They have a different look and don't go together, IMHO.

Not an early but a narrow body "77". I have 215/60 x15 x 7" on rear and 205/60/x15 x 6"on front. Also in this picture, the fronts were not polished yet.

Silver, Great look! I just bought a pait of 7's to do the same thing. Did you have to roll the rear fenders to get the 215's to work?

Hal,

Before I first installed them I had the cars ride height adjusted after I had re-indexed the torsion bars(my car was still @ stock height), they also set the neg camber in rear to -1.5 and the front to B.A's spec in performance book. After a few days hitting some hard corners & dips it had some minor rubbing so I rolled the fenders but it still touched on hard dips. My car's ride height at the time was 24 1/2 rear and 24 1/2 front, I went up to 25" in the rear and all is well (No rubbing)

She's right... sort of.

My car has 7x15's on the rear and 6x15's on the front. The 'black' between the paddle and the rim on the rears is maybe half inch maximum. On the fronts it it's nearly an inch. Also the rear wheels have a much 'deeper' face - the paddles are more pronounced/the black area is more recessed. See web page/gallery for current pics.

I think I have found the solution after making enquiries on this board. The earlier 'deep' face Fuchs (part no 901.361.012 06) match the style and distance between the paddle and rim, also the paddles are more pronounced in the same style as the rears. I should (hopefully)get my new 6x15's delivered tomorrow, if so I will post some pics.

Nigel:

That's an interesting solution. I look forward to seeing the pictures.

Thanks,

Lew
