Yeah, we've got a car show going on this weekend in Frankenmuth, MI 2500-3000 cars. My 71 and a nice replica Speedster were the only 2 Porsches (although if my Cayenne counts, I guess there were 3

This is turning into one of the big shows around anywhere. 99% hot rods and muscle cars, of course. Friday night they close down about a 2 mile stretch of the main street thru this tourist town and fill it with cars, bands, etc. There may have been 20,000 people there or more. It's quite an event. Got lots and lots of looks at my car being that most people weren't familiar enough with Porsches to even know the engine was in the rear!! But lots of compliments from the hotrodders. They were most impressed by the motor in the Cayenne though - several wanted to transplant it into a hotrod!!

How about a Pepperwagen motor in a 911?
Oh, wait...they're already planning that ![]() I thought 450 cars was pretty good considering the event is only in it's third year....

At the risk of sending this to OT, here's fotos of my 2 favorite cars at the show:
This hotrod/chopper combo was stunning. Probably never driven and I'm sure well into the 6-figure price range (probably for each!). ![]() ![]() ![]() I thought I knew a little bit about cars until I saw this. Never heard of, or saw, anything like this before. 1936 vintage travel trailer and transporter. Absolutely awesome. ![]() ![]() |

And to get this back 'on topic', here's the Porsche 'hotrod' motor!

Marc,
Yep, that's me. Sorry I missed you. Edmonds put on a great event this year. They hit the limit on cars (400+) and actually turned people away. The winner in my category (sportscar) was my favorite car in the show; a blue '53 Jag XK-120 FHC. 2nd place was a Vette...I s'pose there's no accounting for taste.
