It seems a fair number of our fellow Pelicanheads are currently struggling in the IT industry and are feeling the effects of outsourcing to foreign countries and the DotBomb crisis. So some are either losing their jobs or are already out of work.
![]() And rather than let the dark forces of Das Kapital cast them into the abyss and allow their talents to be wasted on making lattes (AND HAVE TO SELL THEIR CARS !! ![]() So here is where the rest of the pelicanheads can contribute. Imagine this pool of highly skilled and creative technical professionals with lots of free time on their hands and tell them what you'd like to see them build. We porsche owners are, almost by definition, a market segment with a bit too much disposable income. So this is a community worth listening to. So if you could have anything, what would it be? Virtual wind tunnel modelling software? Better racing sims? Interfaces to diagnose and/or remap motronic chips in real time? Engine building and testing software? Searchable parts databases? Affordable wireless telemetry? Airflow modelling software for developing tuned exhausts or engine cooling schemes? Along these lines, I asked myself what I'd want. And it turns out I have always wanted a program that tells me how much bang for the buck I can get from using lightweight parts in my 911. So I wrote a small prototype of such a system as a demonstration of what some of the possibilities are... http://fasterfasterfaster.com/freehp.html But I am comfortably employed and I did that just as a demo so I'm not charging for it. So speak up !! Show our fellow porsche-lovin' brothers and sisters the path to automotive riches.

Perhaps a less expensive, as-robust, alternative to Motec.
