Injector firing after motor shut off...

Heres one that's plagued my 1989 930 since I got it. To wit:

When the car is warm, and is shut off (key out of ignition and in pocket), an injector or two will squeak. Just a quick little squirt every 10-50 seconds for a couple of minutes.

Now what could be causing THAT?

Cheers!

thay are leaking

do a leak down test, thay will prolly have to be replaced.

Would a leakdown test show a leaky injector? I thought that would be more towards valve guides/rings etc.

If it's happening after I shut off the engine why is it squeaking a couple of times?

If it was pressure built in the fuel system that squeezed out an injector wouldn't it only happen once as the pressure wouldn't continue to build since the engine was off?

Anyone else out there?

ok

after you shut off you motor fuel pressure will remain in the rail
this pressure should only leak down a very small amount over a set time. i was refering to a fuel rail leak down test.

for example if i have 40 psi after i key off and i can watch my guage drop to zero in a few mins the fuel is ether going back to the tank through the regulator, the check ball in the pump, or out an injector.

on a side note when you said a squirt every 10 to 50 secs i assumed you meant a squirt of fuel.
