Bringing together the largest ever contingent of the 911 Carrera Club Sport was no mean feat, but with over 11 cars on each day, and beautiful weather, we did it. When organised in a row, the UK cars (white with red graphics) look superb, and this has helped them maintain their value over the standard Carrera 3.2 (it's now roughly 2:1). In addition, the low weight, bluprinted engine, and optimised chassis allows the Club Sport to be one of the best kept secrets of the ever popular "track day". Indeed, one of my friends owns (and drives well) a 996 Turbo with the X50 Power kit. He drives this thing so hard, it's not funny. However, on a recent trackday at Bedford Autodrome, he remarked to me an incident with a strange looking car that in his words "Was able to pass on the straights, but he kept catching me up on the bends, and after a few laps, I had no choice but to let him pass".... the strange car turned out to be a Club Sport.
Praise indeed for the 15 year old lady ! Here's a picture of the 10 car line up (2 cars behind the photographer) - if you would like more, just let me know by mail, and I will send. All the best Steve

More pictures
Here are some more pictures. You might be interested to know, that the UK Club Sport Register now has 50 cars from the total of 53 cars imported in RHD into the UK. Thanks to the good efforts of Tom, Craig and others in PCNA, we're slowly building the Internation register. We have cars from Blegium, Sweden, Germany NZ and many other countries. The Club Sport register is also logging down all the intricate / intimate details of what makes these great cars even better....and it is interesting to see how people have modified their cars to get more out of them.
Another piccie

Man I would love one of those cars! I believe there are a few American guys on here with ClubSports. Hard to tell the difference between theirs and a normal Carrera though as the ones I've seen come in different colours and without side decals etc.

Steve,
You say you have 50 of the 53 RHD models on the register. Do you know if the other 3 still exist? Is 911 & Porsche World's project car (rebuild) one of them?

Hi Chris - have seen you around the PCGB forum so nice to see a few of us dragging ourselvers overseas. Anyhow, the 911 and Porsche World restoration car is well known to me, and indeed, it was at Eynsham Hallon the Saturday (looking fantastic of course). There is one further installment to come, and Chris Horton will be running that very soon. We know, we are missing one car from the register (it simply disappeared) and suspect 2 were destroyed in racing...but if anyone knows otherwise it's news that we'd love to hear.

Steve:
Truly a beautiful sight! Would have loved to be there for that. Much nicer than the location for the average US PCA concours. Will be thinking about you guys this weekend at the Ventura AutoFest - we'll only have 5 out of the 28 US CS's there but I guess thats about the same proportion compared to your 53 in the UK. |

I do like the UK graphics package, very Carrera RS-ish. Still the US fender graphic was neat too.

exc911ence;
I agree, the Carrera CS logo on both sides is way cool! The guy who owns the car in your post will be at the Ventura Autofest with that very car; its the only Diamond Blue Metallic CS made. |
