Pertronix schematic?
I have a newer engine with a Pertronix igniter in it, and I don't know the correct way to wire it in, HELP!!
1969 911T car with 1975 'S' engine 2.7 liter... (Smitty do you recall that?) |
Try a 'pertronix' search on the board...
I have been where you are and know how frustrating it is. I have an earlier car which uses a different part, I do not know if the wiring is the same. Don't want to give you a bum steer and destroy your unit.If it makes you feel any better, once fitted they work a treat. |
Pertronix good... Points bad... Ugghh...
I hear the same things from others, I really want to use it, but between the 3 wiring situations, I need to get it right.
Thanks for the advise, I'm searching... |
do a search here you will find some good info. if i remember (we did this in april or may 03 and it is easy to install and works great.. the red wire goes to the rear fuse box on the 2nd fuse terminal. the black? goes to ground and the white? goes to the cd box or msd box an dto the tachometer.

OK, I am seeing that the red wire goes to a positve 12V (+) power supply line that comes on with the ignition in the run position, right??
The other wires are still in the wire loom and are correctly set up because I have seen the engine run before, but the red wire came undone during the conversion. I'll use an inline fuse, rated at ??? |

Rickeolis,
I have the instructions/scematic that came with my Pertronix at home. If you want to e-mail me with a fax # I can fax it to you tomorrow. Sorry, I lent my scanner out to a buddy and haven't asked for it back yet, or I'd post it tonight. You can e-mail me at chad.bowser@northgate.com if you have a fax #. Otherwise a search or maybe give them a call? I know they are in San Dimas CA, on Arrow Highway. I know, I saw the address on the box and saw the building the other day :) |
