Who's replaced the window channel felt?
This is starting to look like one of the suckier things I've done on the car, yet. :)
Is it possible to do it without removing the entire window frame? (ie, snaking it down past the window in place?) Am I just wasting my time trying? |
Try it. Check how far the original passes down past the window edge. Do a dry fit ...no adhesive .....to see how it goes. At worst, you can remove the frame fastenings and just pull it up enough to install the felt without removing it entirely off the glass. You'll then have to align it with the body to fit when the door closes.

One a Targa have to remove door panel to access mounting hardward for front felt. Best to remove the window to make sure felt is seated in channel.

Yes. And its much easier, I've just found, to take the door apart to do it.
It took me damn near an hour to slide the rubber outer window seal into the chrome trim piece along the edge of the door. That sucked. A lot. :) One door down, one to go. |
