2 Post lift and 911 Storage
Hi
I am thinking about getting a 2 post lift... When not being used to work on something I would like to use it to store the 911 and park another car under it. Does anyone do this ? Is this a lot of strain to have on the suspension just haging there ? Any thoughts or ideas ?

I don't think it's good for the unibody to be suspended that way for long periods..I have no specific references to support that, however...

If you are going to store the car for prolonged periods, I would suggest a four post lift, which is the same as parking the car on the pavement. If you'd like to work in the wheel areas, you can still use a bottle jack to lift car while it's up. I would also recommend an eagle lift, at Eagleequip.com. Please feel free to PM me with any questions you may have, or if you'd like a contact at eagle to get a lift at a pretty good discount. I have one as well, and I'm not affiliated with them in any way.
regards,

They have been selling new eagle lifts directly from the factory on ebay at bargain prices lately.

With the four-post, the drip pans protect the car underneath. I have Eagle also.

The eagles seem to be really well made. Really heavy, but expensive to ship. If you are close enough, you can save by picking it up at the factory. Not quite enough clearance in my garage, or I would buy one now. At least my garage is a three car, so I have room for one porsche (I need another) and my wife's car and my daily driver since my daughter took her car off to college. She still comes home every weekend to do laundry and for me to wash her car and feed her home cooking. I don't mind because she got a full-ride scholarship (tuition, room, board, books, spending money), so I am building my (gold plated) 3.0 and bought my sport seats and carrera oil cooler/fan setup with her college fund. I'll be grilling a filet mignon for her when she comes by today!
