E-bay recipe for an "Easy" 300 HP SC

I love e-bay. I can "Learn" so much there. 12.5 HP for a K&N filter!

EURO SPEC. 3.0L HP engine

Approx. 30,000 miles on motor

Motor is tight, no noises, very FAST, making over 50hp more than US model. About 245hp + 12.25 for the K&N filter = 257.5hp add the Bypass pipe for $129.00 and gain another 25.7hp bringing it up to 282.9hp then add the Bursch or SSI pipes/mufflers and you’ll be well over 300hp easy

It's got Euro rear bumper pads and Euro tail lenses, but seems to be missing the rear fog and sidemarkers.

Let's see, motor originally had ~200hp, (in euro trim w/ no cat), so cat bypass= zero increase or possible loss from correct euro pre-muff, K&N filter= verified HP loss from stock, and muffler might salvage a tired, old, 'ready for the glue factory' horse or two. So let's be on the safe side and say ~180 dyno dogs w/ 200k(?) miles on this sled.

Also, VIN# will easily tell if it is ROW, (euro), not sure if 1980 ROW had side marker lights yet, (they appeared sometime around then).

The guy has a creative streak w/ numbers, but hey, what's new?

Actually, a 1980 ROW car was listed as 188 HP, DIN. The 204 HP with the 9.8:1 CR came out in 81, and that's the one with the marker light on the front fender.

The 1980 European SC's were only listed as having 188hp versus 180 for the U.S. Only from 1981 on, did the European SC go to 204hp.

He's missed adding the methane tube placed you know where to add up to 300hp.

here's his response:

US Cali spec smog cars had 175 but they were a little under rated ok 185

the 80 euro spec_3.0l FI made nearly 235hp

K&N filter add 5% that_= 247 hp

test pipe add about 10% = 271 HP

add_SSI header w Bursch muffler_15% = 40hp

total hp approx 312

if you do'nt agree thats ok this isn't a debate
