Grounding engine?
1983 911SC
I measured 12-13 ohms between the engine and the body chasis while the engine was running. Is there a need to ground between engine and chasis? I have replace the transimission grounding recently. The reason I want to ground is sometimes I think I hear what sounds like electric arc cracking. Doug |
I don't know about your arcing.. But I take the engine/tranny ground maybe perhaps to seriously. I added an additional ground strap from the starter bolt to the engine mount bolts.

I had a similar problem. Only my car wouldnt run. Check your coil wire, then check your distributo wire..the one running form the side of the distributor to the CDI. Also, take a good look at it running in the pitch black. My coil was archin out too becasue of the bad coil wire.

I added one also: Chassis to the starter bolt!
