G-TECH help please...

I borrowed Tyson's G-TECH just to see how the thing works. It's the small black $139 version. Unfortunately, Tyson didn't have the instructions, so I tried winging it with a combo of FAQ print-outs from the G-TECH website.

I know the thing works in some capacity - at least it lights up - and from what Tyson, Dave and Jeremy say, it needs to be level inside the car to operate properly. But how do I program in the weight of my car, and from there compute the lateral g's to reflect 0-60 times and engine horsepower?

I'm at a loss with this one. Then again, I'm no VCR programmer, either. I was hoping someone could give me an answer tonight before I call G-TECH tomorrow or go out and visit them. At least they're local in Santa Monica.

Thanks all.

Hmm I'm not sure (haven't used mine in a while) but....

1) I think you slide the switch to the hp setting.

2) Then I *think* it blinks hp or G's....when it displays HP push the button and it selects that mode.

3) Then push the button in and tilt it up or down to set the weight. You should see the display change as you tilt it. Then let go.

4) Clip it back onto your dash

5) peel out and run it through the 1st 3 gears, but try to do it fairly smoothly (no jerking) on a level road

should give you roughly accurate peak rwhp numbers

Cool, thanks NYSCAR. I fiddled around with it this morning, and made more progress. But your information helps.

One more question: does the G-TECH have to be placed level inside the car for accurate readings?

Thanks again. :)

Yes, must be level. there is a meter reading that should indicate .00.

regards,
