Sump Plate Question
Looking at this Pelican Parts Item, I see it included Studs. On a 1980 SC 3.0 engine, do I need to replace the studs in order to use this sump plate, or are the studs long enough from the factory to use this.
Anyone done this? Thanks! Chuck

Sure someone must know...
I bought the kit to replace the slightly dented OE one on my 72, haven't fitted it yet though. Came with studs same as Chuck's. Beautifully made bit of kit. |

Yes, the studs do need to be replaced with the ones supplied in the kit ... as the aluminum plate is around 3 times as thick as the OEM steel plate, and there probably wouldn't be enough stud threads left on the original studs for the Nyloc nuts to grab to.
