Working on the brakes this weekend and was wondering how long would (your estimate) it would take to remove and install new rotors, rebuilt calipers, new brake pads in the front? I have done pads before (simple) but never anything else with brakes.
How much longer to install new master cylinder? SS lines? wheel bearings? Any advice will be appreciated. Thanks ![]()

Front rotors, calipers, pads and bleeding would take me about 4 beers (2 hours) if I took my time and didn't get rushed. SS brake lines would add about 20 minutes assuming I had all the correct pieces and the fittings came loose without using a jack hammer.
Master cylinder? Never done one on a 911 so I'm not sure, my guess would be a half hour plus bleeding time for a later model w/ vacuum assist, prolly 4 to 6 times that on an early 911. Those fittings on the plastic tubing are real fun. I've done one on a 914 which should be similar to an early 911, it's easier to do an engine drop IMO. |
