Hot and Horny?

I was installing my 930 M/C tonight, and happened to rest my arm against the fuse/relay panel, when I felt something warm! One of the relays was warm - not fuel pump relay hot, but warm. According to the diagram on the inside of the fuse panel cover, it's the horn relay.

Why in the world would this be carrying current?

This might explain why the battery always drains if I don't drive the car for a few days.

And I have neither a horn or a radio. The horns were sacrificed when I installed the oil cooler, and some local thug relieved me of the radio.

Of course the easy fix is to remove the relay and not worry about it.

Agree, since you don’t have horns you might have a closed horn contact or shorted wire and never knew it. Removing the relay would do the trick regardless.

Yes, I removed the relay. The car still starts, so I guess it wasn't anything critical.

Glad I removed the relay before something bad happened; I guess I pulled it out in time...

That's EXACTLY what I thought as I opened it to see...let's see, at the end of the day, how many viewed it!

LOL!! Where's the hot babe pix ??

Thom, now that you saved yourself by pulling it out , you might use the leisure time to trace the wires and find out why it was hot. Something at the other end may be attached where it doesn't belong and you've only postponed the fire by about 9 months...
