Updating -89 to 993 Door Handles

Along with my Aero Mirror upgrade, I might as well do the door handles also. Does anyone have any experience with updating to the 993 handle? Do I need to replace the lock cylinder? How about the base gaskets, I'm guessing they are different?

Thanks!!!

If you buy the "set", you can replace the tumblers individually between the two lock sets. It takes some patience, but if you take your time and pull all of the tumblers out and line them up from the 993, you can then, one at a time, take the old ones and place them in the proper order in the new lock mech. It's really pretty easy once your looking at the lock. This way you retain your original key and don't have to worry about two keys.

Another thing is the "pushrod" that actually opens the door mechanism is adjustable on the 993 handle. You might need to adjust it to the proper length to be able to actuate the door and lock properly.

The little nut holding the inner bolt is kind of a B!tch to get to, but doable.

It looks great, and don't forget they need to be painted to match.
