Help, My Decklid is stuck

I got a problem, a friend and I were hoping to tackle some minor projects on my new 79 911SC today, one of them was to adjust the decklid, since it was on a little crooked. My friend adjusted the hood mounting bolts, but brought the decklid down more than it should have been, so when he shut it, the decklid stuck and now won't release. It pops when the lever is pulled, but it seems the decklid latch is getting caught on something so it isn't releasing more than an inch. I was wondering has anyone ever had this problem, if so is there any other way to get the decklid up without having to cut the engine lid grill(to realign the hood munting bolts). This is the last time I let a 964 owner touch my SC. HaHa, Just kidding T.
Thanks

Thanks for the link Shawn, it is exactly what I was looking for. I did try a search, but only using decklid as a keyword. I forgot that it is also called an engine lid. Thanks again.
