Will 928 wheels fit a 911 car?

Guys (or gals),

A guy at my local gas station just sold his 928S. He's offering the original wheels and tires for $250, total! I need some track wheels for my 911.

So my question is this...will 1984S 928 wheels fit my 1978 911SC? I would either use the 928 wheels for street and my fuchs for track or visa versa. Which would you recommend?

TYIA,

Craig

yes they will fit. You'll need a spacer at each corner because of the offset.

125shifter, lmao man. I guess I'm too lazy.

mjshira, that's more like it. I wonder if Autozone sells spacers.

So after the 928 wheels get put onto the 911 with the proper spacers, how will the car perform (better or worse)?

I plan on getting the wheels tonight and then start the experiment. What's really going to freak the 928 guys out is showing up at Sharkfest with Fuchs

you are going to need at least an inch of spacer, maybe more. Make sure to get the right ones. Search the board. Good luck

Problem...wheel spacers cost about $100 each. Not like the $1 wheel spacers on my go-kart. Hmm...might have to re-think this.

I have an extra set of four. Funny thing is that my non-flared 69 911 had a set of 928 wheels on it when I got it. Send me a PM with your address. You can have all four for 100. Sound good?
