Other things to do

I've got to remove the engine to rebuild my gearbox soon and I thought I'd take the opportunity to clean the engine and the engine bay up at the same time. I'm going to blast and maybe powder coat the fan etc. I've searched for threads on 'things to do with the engine out' but can't find one , Anybody know the threads location? Suggestions for what other maintenance tasks could be done with the engine out are appreciated. Such as replacing old hoses etc.
