i've seen cases like these restored to concours state
i know a guy that cleaned up an D-type jag, that probably wasn't much betterlooking.
i took him 5 years of blood sweat and tears , but he pulled it off...

Reminds me of a 356 I wanted to buy back in the day. Although, it waas in much better shape, but showing signs of cancer, too. It was sitting in a lot behind the shop that had rebuilt the motor 10 YEARS earlier! They rebuilt it, told the cust it was ready and they never picked it up. Owner died, left it to his wife and she continued to pay the "storage fee." She wouldn't sell it! Shop owner said many people offered good money, too. It absolutely killed me to go by it every day for years.

Make offer to do WHAT with it? If I brought that home, and my wife knows what Porsche work costs, I'd be sleeping in it.

Come on nigel911,
Embrace the truth, everything has to go back to where it came from. This car has lived a long life and who knows. Maybe some fool will save her. If I had unlimited funds I might make a go of it just to prove I could. But eventually all our cars will look like that one and rejoin the dirt from which they came...
