Tire Pressure

How do you determine proper pressure for your tires, I know the max psi (44) but that is it? No way I am trusting the PO!

By the way I have BF Goodrich T/A HR4.

I have heard that you generally want about 40 psi at operating temp. usually 32 frt and 34 rr is a good start maybe plus a couple of pounds each depending upon how you drive.

Also, factory specs are usually a good starting place, but for your '68 that may not be so since tire technology has changed so much in the last 35 years.

Update- keepin the archives alive.

Was told by BF Goodrich to run orginal factory pressure 29/34, no way didn't feel right.

Talked to suspension guy (does my alignment and corner balances) he recomended 32/34, feels perferct. Got better gauge realized mine was very inaccurate and made me underinflate.
