Megaphones?
I have heard the term used many times, but what exactly are "megaphones"? I am guessing it may just be a straight pipe coming out from your exhaust as opposed to a muffler? Where can one buy these? What would happen if I stuck one of these on my SC (it has a cat by pass pipe, stock heat exchangers and muffer). Would it wake my neighbors when I came home at 3:00 a.m. Any HP gains? Do they sound cool? I am basically knowledgable on this kind of stuff, but this one escapes me!

It's generally a race only option since, yes it is a straight pipe that replaces the muffler (slightly cone shaped actually). Wake you neighbors at 3am, it would wake the dead at 3 am.
You would end up with lots of attention from the authorities. Generally they are also for SSI's or headers, not an exhaust like yours with a cat bypass. Have you ever heard a racecar or dragster with no mufflers? That's what it'll sound like. maybe some high rpm hp gains, but probably bad for the bottom end. Sound cool? Hell yes!!
