What did I do
OK I must have made someone mad. I currently hold the record on the autocross board for being ignored. My last post there 111 looks no comments. My last question about diagnosing a heater relay on this board 43 looks no posts. Whats up?
Sorry just ranting..........http://www.pelicanparts.com/support/smileys/sad2.gif |
I feel the same way, when I have a question no one wants to help but a post about a Dodge Neon get over 100 replies what gives?
|
Hey everybody...
SSSSHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH |
Breath mints?
|
Maybe you agreed with tabs on something? Hehehehe!
|
I hate to say it - but you have got to put in your time - Make your title pretty all encompassing - like troubleshooting heater - help!
say Diagnosing a heater relay on a 85 Carrera - and you run the risk of zero replies. Sorry - these are just things I have learned over the past few years. The regular guys - are more likely to get responses - |
You should fill out the rest of your profile. I read your post, but had no idea what autocross you had attended. If there are other Pelican guys at the same event, they'll be likely to chime in.
Pictures and questions are also good bait. |
Guys I know the feeling.....................,
I wish I could help guys but must of the time Im no help but hang in there some of this fellows are GREAT HELP!;) |
I have an '88 and did a fair amount of troubleshooting on the heater fans, switches, etc but didn't have a clue about your question.
Seems silly, but you did check the fan motors to make sure they aren't siezed and the fuses that are inches from the motor itself isn't blown, right? On my '88 one motor kept blowing the ATO type fuse that is inline near the motor, so I took things apart and determined that the motor was siezed, it was just crud, so I freed it and it worked for quite some time, but now the fan itself is fused to the motor housing and so replacement is in order. That is very common on our cars. You wanted to know what wires went where on the relay, here, I have found this link, they are standard, so it applies. http://www.teamrocs.com/technical/pages/relay_basics.htm |
Juan - I always read your posts!
|
There, I addressed your other post too. :)
|
And guys, generally if you have a technical question type of post and no one responds it's because no one is comfortable answering.
In some situations they will ask for more info, but to your fan relay question I don't think we needed more info. It seems like you have the bases covered, and now most of us are as stumped as you. |
and I agree Jack - probably a digital camera saved my a$$ when I did my brake and bearing rehab.
|
Of course - I probably had as many questions as answers - as in - how'd you get your wheel well so clean... I could answer those though!

Was this a case of no "replies" or no "views". I've discovered that if you want "views", then you type in "h-o-o-t-e-r-s" or "UPS girl" in the subject line. Gets me in there all the time. :)

Thank you for all your inputs. I figured I would get a couple of post on this one. Also masraum thanks for the link to the relay. I have updated my previous post but basically have found I am not getting any signal to the front relay from the rear controller. I am then guessing that the engine compartment controller is at fault. Looked through all the heater parts at pelican and could find about every part except the rear heater "relay"/"controller". Anybody know the part number.
Just found the part $138.00 don't think I what the fans to run that bad. Will have to see how the heat works when it gets real cold. |
I dont think I'll reply to this post...dang it! I just did!http://www.pelicanparts.com/support/smileys/wat3.gif

I haven't read any posts from Roland lately.
He usually will post the answers on threads w/ no replys. Really knows his stuff, and he seems to like the challenge of answering questions that know one else can answer. Roland is like the clean up hitter in the lineup :) |
I'll post some info about the heat in your other thread.
