Outside Mirrors...Advice

No need to respond, just some friendly advice if anyone is testing their outside mirrors...you know, they only go up and down or sideways and you want to see if that solenoid works. Well, what ever you do...whether you think they work or not...DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT PUT POWER ACROSS THE YELLOW WIRE WITH BROWN STRIPES!!!!!

I did that to my one functioning mirror...stupid, stupid, stupid...yes, I knew better...but while in a total fog or lapse of consciousness, I did, and fried my one good solenoid! So, instead of replacing one mirror, I now can replace two. The only solace is the driver's still goes up down and the passenger's sideways...but, I still haven't decided the switch is bad. Ah s**t, I'm going to replace just because I'm pissed!

sigh.............
