Quick Speedometer Removal Help Needed

OK, I have finally gotten around to removing the original 85MPH Speedometer out of the SC (Can you believe it!). Anyway, I have it popped out, I have pulled out the wires that are clipped on (4 of them) and labeled them, etc. My question is how do you remove the wires conected into the speedo with the little Red Sleeves? (3 of them) They have no clips, they just spin around in the red sleeve, I am afraid to pull on them too hard for fear of f'ing something up! Any help would be appreciated as my Speedo will hang out of my dash until I can figure this one out! Thanks!

Those are the light bulb holders. I loosened mine with a small standard screwdriver then pulled apart by hand.

Slide a very thin blade screwdriver between the surfaces and apply just a little bit of pressure. They should then slide out.

Be careful, if you twist them there is a chance the buld will fall out of the holder and then you'll have to remove the bezel and glass to get the bulbs out.

BTW, are you having the guage converted to 150mph? I did the same with mine in the Spring - sent it to No. Hollywood Speedo and have been very satisfied.

Do you mean you loosened the little screws next to them and then pulled them out, or did you pry up the little red sleeve and then just pull them straight out? Does the whole bulb come out or just the wire? Thanks for your help on this!

Doug thanks!
Yes I am having it converted to 160, is 150 spec for the later (or earlier) cars? I will also be sending it to North Hollywood. I am also hoping to have them add the max downshift points by gear. It is weird not knowing how fast you are going at times!

What I wrote wasnt the best description. Definetely follow Doug's advice. Heres a pic of a tach, but its similar.
