Rocker arm replacement?
A friend purchased a used SC with what sounded like a noise coming from the top end. Opening it up I I discovered that the intake rocker on number six is missing the pad that pushed on the valve stem.
I'm presuming that I can probably just replace the pad and adjustment screw. I'm wondering how tough it is to replace the rocker itself without pulling the engine. Has anyone done this on the number six cyl? Is there anything I should know about doing that job? Thanks, Eric

Someone correct me if I am wrong here. I believe the rocker has to come out in order to replace that 'elephant's foot' adjuster thingie. It can be done with the engine in the car, as long as no one has installed the rocker shaft bolt backwards. There is a small hex bolt head at one end of the rocker shaft, and at the other end, a larger hex nut. If the larger hex nut is at the end where there is little clearance, you are in luck. If the smaller hex end, which is actually a bolt head, is facing the oil cooler, you are not in luck.
Am I right? Some of this is from memory.
