Are those turbo twists 17" or 18"? How much for them?

cstreit 10-01-2003 10:42 AM

LOL,

I'm really need to take an inventory of things before I can start selling them. I am selling them only as a favor to the owner because of all the things he's done for me. I have to keep track of what he gave me, what they sell for, etc..

WHen I met Ray, we were on a group motorcycle ride with the local italian bike club. As you imagine, riding Itlaian bikes one develops rather good riding skills because you end up getting adept dodging all the parts falling off your buddies bikes. So needless to say we were moving along the backroads at an "expedient" pace

I was driving my frist German car, an 84 Audi 4000, that was having problems and as we were waiting for the officer to write out our tickets, I started talking it over with him. Turns out he owned a euro-car shop and suggested I bring it buy. Whilst there, I took a gander at his Porsche's... Had i never done that, I probably wouldn't own one today.

We got to know each other over the next few years as he slowly, insidiously infected me with Porscheitis and in fact, drove with me from Chicago to New Hampshire to buy my first. (That trip is a story unto itself). Still have that car, the silver 930. After time I joined him to watch him race, got very excited about it, and he offered me the use of his racecar to go to a driving school. SONOFA, if I wasn't hooked before I was now....

I spent many hours hanging out in his shop, talking with the mechanics, helping, learning, just pal-ing around. In fact, both he and his two mechanic's were at our wedding!

I'm really sorry to see him go, and will miss having him around Chicago. He's ready to retire and enjoy some other stuff though, can't blame him. Speaking of inspiration, he's over 60, still races cars, rides a Kawasaki 1100 rocket, and recently got back from a ride to Canada for a top-speed bike shootout at an airport there!

Might I suggest on one day only cash and carry sale on a Saturday. It will save you a lot of time trying to ship all that stuff. Just give me a least a weeks notice to cancel any important plans I have for that day.

cstreit 10-01-2003 12:30 PM

Kevin,

That's probably in the works! That should also help reduce the inventory that we have to list and ship!

dad911 10-01-2003 12:47 PM

Might I suggest bringing the whole lot to Hershey next spring?

JasonAndreas 10-01-2003 05:47 PM

Any chance there is a Bosch KTS-300 (hammer) sitting in one of those piles?

cstreit 10-01-2003 06:03 PM

Jason, I have no idea what that is :(

e-mail me at cstreit@wowway.com with a description and i will see.

rdane 10-01-2003 06:36 PM

Chris check your email please...
Your pile has something I think I need ;)

makaio 10-01-2003 07:26 PM

What's the specs on the car Chris?

Jim Smolka 10-01-2003 07:36 PM

Time to take out that 2nd mortgage

cstreit 10-01-2003 07:53 PM

Maiko,

It's a 1970 911 built by Johnson Motorsports, purchased in '02 from a guy in Minneapolis.

Engine:
It has a 3.2L motor with a 3.0L case and 2.7 crank. (from what I remember...)
Lightweight flywheel.
Racing clutch
46mm Webers
Max Moritz 98mm P's & C's.
Raceware rod bolts
Twin plug heads (Electromotive Crankfire)
EBS Racing Springs with Titanium retainers
Webcam 120/104

Suspension:
RSR rear struts (threaded body kind)
Bilstein green raised spindle struts
Big a$$ sway bars (not sure what kind)
930 aluminum trailing arms
Adjustable spring plates
Monoball bushings front and rear
Strut brace

Brakes:
944Turbo front brakes and disc's
930 rear calipers and disc's
Adjustable bias
Tilton dual master cylinder.

Misc:
ATL 100 liter fuel cell, aeroqup lines
Holley Fuel pump
Bolt/weld in roll bar
Recaro seat
White faced gauges, memory tach, oil pressure warning
Hot Lap timer
Fiberglass bumpers, ducktail, front fenders
Front mount oil cooler

etc.. etc..

Very nice car. I am going to finish putting it together this winter, do the intial tuneup and development work in the early spring. It will be going up for sale probably in the April timeframe. (Hopefully before racing season!)

I drove it last year and it is a VERY fast vintage car. In fact, I'd say the suspension is better than mine, and this car should outhandle and outpower mine in it's current form by a margin. (But not NEXT year)

limble 10-02-2003 09:30 AM

There is a bunch of stuff I want (notice I didn't write need).
Send me a PM when you have the sale.
Tweeks Funfest would be another option. Not far from Naperville.

jbripps 10-02-2003 05:19 PM
