Thanks to John Walker
I picked up the Duck this morning from a couple days at John Walker's Workshop in north Seattle. John turned, adjusted, changed fluids, installed new Bilstien HD's and gave it a good check over. I gotta say, she has never run so well and felt so tight. And for all John did, the price was VERY reasonable. He even fixed a couple of things that we hadn't talked about and didn't charge me!!!!
I just want to publicly thank John for the things he does for our Porsche community and for the honest and upstanding way he runs his business. I can finally say that I have a mechanic. Thanks John. The man himself ![]() Happy Duck ![]() Something you don't see every day ![]() |

Outstanding Mark, glad your pleased. Wish I had the funds to go to John now, but money's a bit tight. All I can afford is the parts, that's why this board is so important to me. If anything is beyond my limited ability though I will pony up & take it to JW. BTW your car looks amazing as usual.

Mark-
That is awesome! If you get your living/garage situation in order, and there is a weekend left of nice weather this fall, we should all get together for a "make-up" drive, since you, Island, and I all missed the last one. Paul- I would always at least check with JW if you need any work done. I was searching a while back for a good used stock 3.2L (stainless) muffler, and everyone wanted around $120-$150. I gave JW a call, and he sold me one in excellent condition, and did the swap all for $100! I tell ya, he has got to have the highest Karma in the land. ![]() Last edited by Eric Coffey; 10-04-2003 at 06:48 PM.. |

Yes, you can't say enough nice things about this man. The help he has provided to those of us on this board far less knowledgable than he is more than commendable. I recently wrote to him maybe 4 separate times with questions and he took the time to reply with suggestions to every single one of them. I've never met him and live half the country away, so I'm probbaly viewed as unlikely business potential, but he gave a little bit of his time and expertise anyway. Kudos to you, John. Mark, you're a fortunate man. You're pretty much on your own in Arkansas as far as I'm concerned!

Hey Paul-s, Eric speaks the truth about John's rates. On top of that, John only fixes what needs to be done. I pretty much gave him free reign on bushings, and he said they are fine for now. Really softens the financial blow. Also, he gave me a list few things that we need to address down the road. Also softens the blow and lets me accrue for the next trip.
Eric, I should be up for a make up drive in 2-3 weeks if the weather holds. Paul D, We all know your a kidder. I spend way too much time on the board too!! |

Seattle folks love the Space Needle. But to me, that shop on Greenwood Avenue is *the* landmark in town!

I would like to second the opinionc voiced about JW. He helped me via this board when I was in Hawaii, and now that I am in his neck of the woods I was finally able to take my car to him and pay him for his expertise. Great guy, and great work.
The Duck looks good! I saw it the other day I was there. Didn't notice the Texas plates though. We should get together again in front of his shop for a multi-state picture, with my Hawaii plates. Any of you PNW guys wanna go out for a drive, please let me in on it!! I have yet to realize my ambiton of running with other Pelicanites. |

I think within the next 3-4 weeks we could probably pull off a make-up for those who couldn't make the first "Welcome Texan" drive. I promise less bikers too. Really. Now, for a route...???

Yup, can't say enough great things about John. This guy goes the extra mile and is ALWAYS honest and fair. The best about John though is spending the time talking about all of his projects and man does he have some good ones. And his shop...whoa...what a dream......it's always hard to leave!
Great work John and you've always got my business. Jesse |
