Rear Brake Cooling Ducts

Here's my quick fix to cool the rear brakes.

Simple setup using 3" flexible aluminum ducting material available at hardware stores. Holds shape well and not affected by heat - plus it's cheap!

Removed the dust shields and used the existing mounting bolt for tension wire to control arm [The duct actually sits about a 1/4" from the rotor when in position]

Aim the inlet into the air stream under the car [close to the wheel to clear the rear sway bar]

Retain to rear control arm with zip-ties at lower shock mount.

I'm curious to see how it works for you. That's not a bad idea.

I have been running this setup all summer and found it made substantial difference on track - and Road Atlanta can be brutle on brakes. No longer have to bleed after each session and after 8 hours of track time their still doing the job. It may not be carbon fiber but but it works!

Beamonk - see you at Barber - will be in Group 3.

I might have to try that Mike.

Is that a TRG rear sway bar you have?

Matt - yes, TRG rear bar. Excellent craftsmanship and made a noticeable difference from stock. Still running the stock 22mm front but can't justify the expense as the car is handles very well with current setup (22/29 tbars, revalved bilstiens, poly bushings, etc).
